Junior's is one of our "go to" spots in Times Square. The food is always good, the staff is attentive, and the atmosphere is comfortable and welcoming. This trip, we stopped for lunch and ordered a cheeseburger, a corned beef sandwich, a bagel with smoked salmon and a turkey sandwich -- all excellent. If you go, try the cheesecake as it is outstanding!
They have the best pastries and desserts in all N.Y. I brought my dad's birthday cake from there. He had the carrot cheesecake. It was delicious!! I also had their banana nut & blueberry muffins. It's the best!!! In the past I enjoyed their pancakes and breakfast meals too. When you come here be prepared to eat because you won't leave with an empty stomach.
very good food and atmosphere. Great desserts. The potato pancakes are very good and large so if you’re thinking of getting the three, be sure there are people to share them with. Chicken tenders are also good.
Oh man was this place delicious! They were incredibly busy when we visited on Thanksgiving Day after the parade, but we didn't wait too long- maybe 25 minutes or so. The service was prompt and friendly. I ordered the lunch combo with a Caesar salad and matzo ball soup and I loved every bite! We also ordered the Disco fries and they weren't the best, but not terrible. At the end of the meal we all ordered cheesecake and it was some of the best cheesecake I've ever had! I ordered the Red Velvet cake cheesecake and it was SO good!
Clean , neat, and organized. Staff very cordial, attentive; and great customer service and most of all respectful.
Famous deli and diner near Times Square. Had the corned beef and pastrami sandwich which was quite good. It is a very large restaurant so seating should be available. Pretty broad menu options. It's pricey but on par with all the restaurants in the area. Recommend.
Best in NYC, amazing staff that really knows their food. The kind of hospitality you get at a 5 star resort. The best cheesecake in the world.
I read that this place has the best cheesecake and many tines things labeled “the best” fall short and it’s disappointing. That was not the case here. It truly was THE BEST! The softest and creamiest cheesecake I’ve ever had. My mouth is watering just thinking about it. Every staff member we interacted with was incredibly friendly. We liked the cheesecake so much we made a point to stop in again to get a few slices to go! We look forward to being in NYC again and this will definitely be one of our first stops!!
I love it and I can't wait to visit New York so I can go there again.
This place is awesome. I call it 'midwestern' prices, as I'm from the midwest. I was pleasantly surprised at the count of food you get for the price. We were used to paying upper 20's for a meal. I enjoyed a tremendously large omelet (okay, couldn't eat it all) and it was less than $15. Great way to start a day of walking around the city. They also have a bakery and we came back later in the evening to get muffins for the next day. They are enormous and wonderful. There is also a bar inside, but we did not imbibe on this occasion. Definitely a must stop while in the city.
Food was good, especially the sugarfree cheesecake, but unfortunately our waiter all but ignored us. Never got refills on water. Someone else brought our food. Waited forever to get our check. Once he finally brought our check he never came back to take them. The manager finally noticed us sitting being upset and came over to take our payments. But then paid with cat and they brought the wrong change back. Ugh... We'll get my cheesecake to go next time.
Some of the best cheesecake I've ever had! A world famous spot, this location is busy but does a great job. The staff was really friendly and our deserts were incredible. I ordered the carrot cake cheesecake and it was delicious! Will definitely come back for more and highly recommend!
The chicken wings are amazing you can meet some very nice people from all walks of life due to the location. The waiter Gerardo was not good. He brought drinks without straws, the incorrect order. You had to ask for things multiple times to the point where we just asked the bus gentlemen and they were awesome in satisfying our requests in a timely manner and we only had to ask once. He just didn't seem very interested in providing the service you would expect at this specific location. This specific waiter aside the food was good. I ordered the applecrumb cheesecake and it was too cold for me to eat there so I took it to go with the hopes of it tasting better once it is room temperature.
Line up was incredibly long. Just go to the front and put your name in bypassing all the people waiting just after the doors or outside. The service was good. The food selection was catered more to meat eaters not too much veggie options. Kids liked eating here. There are 2 juniors close to each other near time square so you can try your luck at either or.
What better place to enjoy NYC cheesecake than in NYC Times Square at Juniors! Established in the 1950s, this retro Diner and soda shop is the perfect hangout after a Broadway show. And the food is fantastic. Our group indulged in cherry cheesecake and strawberry cheesecake, and we couldn't believe how big the slices were! We also had their onion rings...very good! Great vibe, we will return!
I was on a day bus trip to New York city, and a girl I was interested in at the time suggested I go to Junior's and get cheesecake. Not only was the cheesecake amazing, but I am now married to that girl!
We walked right in and were seated immediately. I couldn't believe it. We got two cups of split pea soup, which came with a few croutons. We also had the tuna sandwich on wheat which was delicious and had a very hearty portion of tuna salad. Loved the atmosphere and rotating JUNIOR lights
We were told this was a “must do” on our trip to NYC. We took a cab from JFK to this restaurant. We were 22nd in line at 1 in the afternoon. Totally worth the wait. Our lunch was amazing. The cheesecake was definitely a must. Richest cheesecake ever. You have to go!
Really large space. Well lit and family friendly. Great place to sit and dine. If you not dining, they have a separate section for you to walk up to and order/pay for what you want and go.
Old and nice, expensive, average food flavor, good presentation, fast service on the bar nice people, nice server. Is a little bit better for traditional breakfast, to much time for a table.. a lot of people... good coffee .. 🙂
12.99 for 3 average sized pancakes. 6.99 for tasteless granola with about 4 oz of milk. My husband had pancakes, bacon, sausage and eggs which was over $20. The pancakes were very good. The coffee was great and the dessert case looked fabulous. We were there Christmas Eve morning and it was extremely busy which would definitely explain our slow service.
Absolutely delicious! We came on a trip a few months ago and were not disappointed. Our server was super friendly and helpful, and even gave directions to the Broadway show we were going to afterwards. The food was very good and the cheesecake was out of this world. Definitely the best cheesecake I've ever had! If you're visiting New York City, you HAVE to visit Junior's!
Historic New York landmark always busy. All types of cheese cake all are very good. Plain is the best for me. Also would recommend there griddle cakes.
We have stopped by Junior's each time we visit NYC and picked up their amazing cheesecake, but this was the first time we sat down to eat. Our meal was excellent! My daughter had the linguine and declared it was the best meal she ate during our whole trip. My other daughter had the pulled pork and hasn't stopped talking about it! We all ordered cheesecake, but had to get them to go since we were all so full. All of our cheesecakes tasted great. I was partial to the Pineapple Cheesecake and the Carrot Cake Cheesecake. Our server, Gladys, was a gem. She had her hands full but that didn't keep her from being attentive and taking the time to joke around with us. Great job Gladys! We will definitely be back the next time we visit New York!
The portion sizes are amazing, the food was cooked to perfection and the very busy staff attentive with a great attitude. Yes it's a chain but we loved it. Everyone should try Junior's at least once
I love the food, cheerful atmosphere, and super friendly staff here. And of course, the cheesecakes!!
Absolutely wonderful place! Great service! Great atmosphere! And amazing food! The cheesecake is phenomenal! I came here quite a bit on my trip to New York! 100% Reccomend!
Fun diner and the food is good, service was relatively quick. It was very busy though, which ruined some of the ambiance which you would get from diners. Do yourself a favor, get a cheesecake!
The one star is for the Atmosphere because that was the only thing that was good about my visit. I ordered the fried chicken dinner. I got 4 pieces of overdone dry chicken. I had to bury my chicken in ketchup as it was dry and tasteless. Oh and even though it was 4 pieces, it still amounted to around a breast and a thigh because the pieces were cut up. To say I paid $30 for that dinner has been the worst buyers remorse of my entire life. I will never visit that place again.
This restaurant serves american food like big sandwiches, shakes, cheescakes, etc. Food is good! I recommend to share if you want dessert. The place is a little bit crowded but it's cozy. You feel like in a typical dinner from the 80s.Staff is nice and service is quick.Big lines for Bakery to go.
Best cheesecake I ever had! Layers of rich frosting, creamy cheesecake, and chocolate cake. The slice was huge. Most people would probably share it but I had to have the whole thing to myself!
Great menu. All the classics with a slight twist on some items. The steak burger was great and the chicken fingers are all white meat. Fries are the big steak-cut type. Overall, a good no nonsense array of items. Of the 4 mains ordered, 2 were less than hot, but fine. The cheesecake options were amazing. The plain, chocolate swirl, carrot cake and red velvet were all spectacular. Even when busy, getting a table is easy. They take your cell number and text you when to head back. If you have the Yelp app, you can even see how many parties are in line ahead of you. This makes it possible to walk around the area and use the time instead of waste the time.Highly recommended for all ages.
Nice set up and clean. Well lit in all areas. Food was good too. That Cheesecake is amazing
Great service and staff are very attentive. My grilled cheese was delish! Pea soup was yummy too. Great decor and location.
Awesome pastrami sandwiches and baked onion soup for lunch!!! Talk about deliciousness!! The pastrami has a beautiful bark on it and went well with the pickled beets to cut the richness of the meat. Of course there was a chocolate mousse cheesecake to follow and I had a bite of my colleague's strawberry cheesecake. My server E.J was so friendly and helpful. I love this place. I come here every time I get into the city.
First time to dine at Junior's. My wife and I dined at the Times Square location, this was a wonderful experience. Great food and service great location and a beautiful bakery. I highly recommend it. It has a beautiful history. Go enjoy!!
Amazing 50's style diner place. Had the combo Reuben and chocolate malt. Delicious, juicy corned beef. Pastrami tasty but a little tougher than expected, but there was so much corned beef it didn't matter. Nice, friendly server and fast service. Superb.
incredible food! Absolutely loved all the unique flavors! service was not horrible, but not outstanding either. All around, a good experience and would recommend this place to anyone who wants a flavor of New York! Definitely get a slice of cheesecake! The Rueben Egg Rolls were outstanding! Served with Thousand Island dressing!
This place was so much funn! Elias our bartender made our trip that much better! He even helped us navigate the subways! Stuart was working with him the first night and they made it so fun we came back the next night! Both so attentive and made amazing suggestions! The food was just a cherry on top as it was amazing!
AMAZING AMAZING AMAZING!! If I could live here I would. My most favourite place in NYC. Red velvet cheese cake is the best thing in the world. Pastrami is amazing too. Have to wait for table but moves quickly, staff are brilliant, polite and quick.
We ate here more than we Intended to because of the quality of the food and the service. The pastrami sandwich is to die for and is better than the one served at Katz and it’s 7 dollars cheaper too! Great place highly recommend
Very good service and food. As with everything NY, it's overpriced but the crab cake is worth the price of admission. I don't know how they're pulling that off but WOW. I just don't know they can be made better. Definitely stop here in Times Square
Great food! Fast and friendly service, which was a pleasant surprise for how busy it was. Had to go back for the cheesecake though. I was so full!
We went for dessert. It was very good cheese cake. Apple crumble, carrot cake, devils food and strawberry cheesecake. We sat right down at 8 on a Wednesday night. Service was very good.
My husband and I visited Junior's for an anniversary dessert celebration. Being in Times Square the location is fairly busy. We were seated in no time despite the hustle and bustle. Our server was personable and asked about our reason to visit. She congratulated us on celebrating our anniversary, and suggested a dessert option. Our service was quick and the cheesecake was yummy. Definitely a place to visit if you're celebrating something special.
Food was great. Overall had a great time here. Only negative thing I experienced was the wait time. You can expect a wait time almost anywhere you go in NYC especially on the weekend. Waitress was nice and helped me pick a good meal choice. Will return in the future.
Superb as advertised. They know exactly who they are and they really deliver. Servers were helpful, pleasant and efficient, making great recommendations. Food was great as was the atmosphere. You do get a Manhattan price but you are in Manhattan
Must stop restaurant on every visit to NYC.I visited Junior's during the day, on the evening and very late at night (1 AM) and every time we walked in it was packed. Good thing is that the wait time never exceeded 10 minutes. There are many many different dishes to choose from but I had always asked for burgers. They were pretty good. I would not rate them as the best ever but I never complained. Here in Junior's the main course is just a warm up for the CHEESE CAKE. Best I ever tried. The atmosphere is very lively. In my opinion most of the people sitting were tourist which is not weird considering it's proximity to Times Square and Broadway's main theatres. The waiters did well. Fast, efficient and kind enough.
